I' would like to have it, but $3000 is the best amount he can actually get. Shame. If I had it, it would be on the road. I am currently working on a BT500 to ride. Hopefully, the Standard I have will be in the Motorcycle Cannonball next year, and ride across America, coast to coast. Amazing what people think when they're not familiar or know what the value, but think because they never saw one and it's old, it must be valuable. It's on Ebay/US for $88,000.00 US. No....that is not a mistype....he just lowered the price from $89,000,00. Such a bargain. Hello, I recently acquired this Standard motorcycle, and want to make sure what I have. It is listed as a 1931 BT500. I am hoping someone can help confirm this, and give me a bit more info as to it's origin. I was able to get the bike started and actually rode it a bit, but then discovered quite a lot of things that made me want to stop riding and protect the bike. The motor case has a lot of poorly repaired cracks, but I was able to find another engine (thanks Peter Roher!), so I am starting the process of making one very good engine from the 2. Any technical information on the 500CCIOE MAG, the Hurth transmission (I think this is a Hurth), and anything else that is pertinent. It's a fabulous motorcycle....she deserves to be on the road, not sitting in a warehouse, and I am determined to get her going again.
